2021 Winter Registration Now Open

We are excited to be back!!!!

Badminton will run from September 21, 2021 to the end of March 2022. Blackout dates are pending from the Town but will be posted on the calendar as soon as they are made available to us.

  • We are an adult only club.
  • The seasonal cost is $275. We will play two nights a week from September 21, 2021 – March 31, 2022).
  • Membership is limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis; however, past MBC members will be have priority.
    • Priority membership will be open immediately.
    • Starting September 7, 2021, membership will open to the wait-list and the public if there are any still spots available.
  • The 2021 winter season roster will be posted on our site once it has been finalized.

Play locations have been updated:

  • Tuesdays at the Milton Leisure Center from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Thursday at the Velodrome from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You must read and agree to the information found on the “Impact of COVID-19” page https://miltonbadmintonclub.org/covid-19-declaration-required-by-all-members-who-play-on-all-play-nights/.
  • All members are instructed that if they have been in the club in the last two weeks and are exhibiting any symptoms even if they have not tested positive that they must not attend the club until the symptoms subside and 14 days from the original symptoms pass or they provide a letter showing they have tested negative.  Members will be instructed to contact the club executive to advise that they are symptomatic. We will in turn advise all members via flash email and the Town of Milton.
  • We remain a doubles club.
  • Face masks are MANDATORY when off the court/not playing.  You are required to supply your own mask.
  • Face masks are not required during game play.
  • You are asked to practice physical distancing whenever possible.
  • You may provide your own hand sanitizer.
  • Please do not come to the club if you are having any COVID-19-like symptoms.

In the event that the Town closes the facility due to COVID-19 our club may shut down again.  You will be notified at that time how this may impact our club and your membership.

Winter 2020-21 Season Canceled

With continued public health concerns due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Milton Badminton Club has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the Winter 2020/21 season. We very much look forward to reopening in Summer 2021.

All current members will receive an emt refund of $215 to the email address provided for contact tracing by January 23, 2021. The password to collect the emt is “stayathome”.

MBC Operations remain suspended

The Milton Badminton Club will remain with our operations suspended until Halton is moved out of the red zone. Updates from MBC will be sent once we are moved from this status.

MBC Suspends Operations

As Milton in now in the red zone, MBC is forced to suspend operations. There will be no badminton play until further notice.

We will provide a status update during the week of November 30, 2020.

Winter Badminton Starts tonight/Move to the Leisure Center

Please read this post in its entirety as there has been some important updates from the Town that you must be aware of:

  1. Our club has moved play to the MILTON LEISURE CENTER (MLC) located at 1100 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 6H7. We are NOT playing at the Velodrome. Our schedule and black out dates have been posted on the schedule.

2. Please read the MLC Gym Facility Protocol Version 1 prior to play.

3. The MLC exit out of the building is via the door at the end of the gym (South side), which means that members cannot be standing at the seating area.

4. Badminton starts at 8:30 PM. Members cannot be on to the court before execs arrive and the signup sheet is signed.  Starting play before executive arrival can result in a loss of the facility and result in loss of MBC Membership. Executive members are Vinu, Raj, Leanne or Saki.

5. The current roster can be viewed here. Only those on the roster will be permitted to play. If you are not on the roster but feel you should be, please contact us today by 4:00 PM.

6. This roster will display an asterisk (*) next to your name if your email and phone number have been provided for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes. If you name does not have an asterisk next to it, please email us at mbadc3@hotmail.com and provide this information. You will not be permitted to play unless this information is provided.

MBC’s COVID-19 Rules effective immediately:

  • Members must provide their email and phone number for contact tracing purposes. 
  • If you have been at the club in the last two weeks and are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms you must notify an executive of the club immediately (verbally to Vinu or Raj or emailing us at mbadc3@hotmail.com).  We will in turn advise all MBC members and the Town of Milton.
  • Should more than 4 members test positive for COVID-19 in the same 14 day window, MBC will cease club operations for a two week period.
  • All members will have to sign in when they arrive and prior to playing on court and agree that neither they nor someone they have come in contact with in the last two weeks has been diagnosed or exhibited COVID-19 like symptoms.
  • Face masks are MANDATORY at all times when off the court/not playing.  You are required to supply your own mask.
  • Face masks are not required during game play.
  • While not playing, members are required to maintain a distance of no less than 6 feet apart between each other unless they live in the same household.
  • You will be required to apply antibacterial sanitizer before touching the game board to pick games and prior to playing a new game. The club will provide hand sanitizer; however, you are encouraged to provide your own.
  • Please do not come to the club if you are having any COVID-19-like symptoms.
  • You will be required to sign the COVID-19 Declaration every play night prior to play. This declaration is subject to change.
  • Shaking of hands after games will be replaced with a verbal acknowledgement or touching of the rackets.

Winter Badminton To Start October 13, 2020

We are scheduled be start winter badminton next week!

Please review this information before October 13, 2020:

1.Badminton play absolutely cannot start until a member of the executive team is present on the court. Starting play before executive arrival can result in a loss of the facility. Beginning play before an exec is on the premises may result in loss of MBC Membership. Executive members are Vinu, Raj, Leanne or Saki.

2. Your membership means that you agree to follow the COVID-19 rules and that you will sign the COVID-19 Declaration prior to each play night.

Winter 2020/21 Roster Posted

The Town of Milton has really limited our membership due to COVID-19 restrictions. Currently membership is open to those who were past members of MBC.

If you have emt’d your membership fee AND if the password to collect fees was known, your name is posted on the current roster found here: https://miltonbadmintonclub.org/current-roster/. You have been enrolled in the Winter season.

If your name is not on the roster, you’re a past member and you’ve emt’d your fees, please email us at mbadc3@hotmail.com and include the password to collect your membership fee.

On-Again, Off-Again, On-Again… Our Winter Season is a GO!

After weeks of no word from the Town, it looks like we are back on.

Additional Membership Info:

  • All those who signed up in September will have priority for the Winter season. Priority membership will be open immediately until October 5, 2020.
    • If you are interested in membership and have not cancelled your EMT, no action is required.
    • If you have cancelled your EMT and are interested in membership, please send your fee ASAP.
    • We will begin collecting EMTs on October 1, 2020.
  • Starting October 6, membership will open to the wait-list and the public if there are still spots available.
  • The winter season roster will be posted on our site once it has been finalized.
