Impact of COVID-19

PROOF OF DOUBLE COVID-19 PASSPORT IS REQUIRED

The Town of Milton REQUIRES all those who enter the Velodrome to have received a double COVID-19 vaccination. 

MBC will store all submitted COVID-19 vaccine receipts of all members. 

Members may be required to have proof of double vaccination on them at all times when at the Velodrome and may be required to show proof of vaccination when on the premises.

MBC’s COVID-19 Rules effective immediately:

  • Members must provide their email and phone number for contact tracing purposes. 
  • If you have been at the club in the last two weeks and are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms you must notify an executive of the club immediately (verbally to Vinu or Raj or emailing us at mbadc3@hotmail.com).  We will in turn advise all MBC members and the Town of Milton.
  • In the event of an infection of one or two members from different households in the same two week period:
    • We will advise all members of the club in writing via a flash email
    • We will advise the Town of Milton
    • We will advise the Halton Health Department
  • In the event of an infection of more than two members from different households in the same two week period:
    • We will cease operations for a two week period and we will advise all members of the club in writing via a flash email
    • We will advise the Town of Milton
    • We will advise the Halton Health Department
  • All members are instructed that if they have been in the club in the last two weeks and are exhibiting any symptoms even if they have not tested positive that they must not attend the club until the symptoms subside and 14 days from the original symptoms pass or they provide a letter showing they have tested negative.  Members will be instructed to contact the club executive to advise that they are symptomatic. We will in turn advise all members via flash email and the Town of Milton.
  • Face masks are MANDATORY at all times when off the court/not playing.  You are required to supply your own mask.
  • Face masks are not required during game play.
  • While not playing, members are required to maintain a distance of no less than 6 feet apart between each other unless they live in the same household.
  • You will be required to apply antibacterial sanitizer before touching the game board to pick games and prior to playing a new game. The club will provide hand sanitizer; however, you are encouraged to provide your own.
  • Please do not come to the club if you are having any COVID-19-like symptoms.
  • Shaking of hands after games will be replaced with a verbal acknowledgement or touching of the rackets.
  • We remain a doubles club.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests will not be permitted to join this season.

COVID-19 Declaration

If you can answer “yes” to any of these questions please DO NOT play badminton for the next 14 days.

1. Are you experiencing any symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing?
2. Have you traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days?
3. Have you or someone you have been in close contact with tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
4. Have you been in close contact with someone who is being tested or has
exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

General facility considerations:
– Operations staff will continue with the regular sanitization of high-touch point surfaces, according to Halton Public Health guidelines.
Spectator seating is located along the glass windows and seating outside of the gym.
– The total number of individuals in the gym cannot exceed 50 for the full gym and 25 per half gym (players, coaches and spectators).
– Floor markings will be added, where needed, to indicate patron flow and physical distancing requirements.
– Signage will be placed at appropriate locations outside and throughout the facility to remind those who are unwell to stay home and to serve as reminders to practice physical distancing, wear a mask and practice hand hygiene regularly.
